Generous funding from the Royal Society of New Zealand's Marsden Fund and Victoria University of Wellington's University Research Fund and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences enabled the creation of Liverpool as a Trading Port. Professor Brian S. Silverman, University of Toronto, generously donated computerized editions of several Liverpool street directories, 1766-1796. We also acknowledge the significant and substantial volunteer work that enabled the creation of the Lancashire Parish Clerk Project, an online database of Lancashire parish clerk records (christenings, marriages, burials), available freely for non-commercial purposes. In this spirit, the Liverpool as a Trading Port project will also make available all data as either text files or spreadsheets for non-commercial purposes. We also gratefully acknowledge the author of the Metaphone 3 phonetic encoding algorithm, Lawrence Philips, which is licensed from Anthropomorphic Software.
